One aspect that students find unique to Misericordia is the great amount of hands-on learning. Classes arent just focused on lectures and reading from a book; through demonstration, students gain a better understanding and are able to handle whatever is thrown at them. Academics are Misericordias strong point. Another ctor that makes Misericordia unique is the amount of individualized attention students receive so that they can excel inside and outside of the classroom. The professors are caring, friendly, and their quality of teaching is above average. Most of the professors that work at Misericordia have worked full-time in their fields at high-end companies and organizations, so the pointers and tips they give for success are especially helpful.
Obviously, students come to college to pick a major and try to succeed in their field of study both inside the classroom and well after they graduate. Well, that is exactly what Misericordia prepares students for: success. Students get irritated that its hard to have a social life, but then they realize that they didnt come to college for a social life; they came for academics. Its something that takes time to get used to. While most students have a love-hate relationship with Misericordia, many stay all four years at the University because of the unique hands-on learning experiences that help shape their futures.
